Overview | This course consists of lecture and practice. The course will be easy-to-understand, assuming that many of the participants have not performed acoustic analysis before (but have some experience of recording their own voice on the computer). The first half of the course will overview the mechanism of speech production, and explains the basics of acoustic analysis such as how to observe waveforms and spectrograms. The latter half will be an actual practice of recording and analyzing speech. The lecturer will use a Windows PC in the practice session, therefore the examples will also be shown on Windows. We suggest that those who are not confident in using computers bring a Windows PC instead of a Mac. |
