Call for Oral/Poster Presentations

Please send your application form to psj2014@nacos.com in PDF and MS Word format (or text file) by June 10th. The length should not be longer than 2 pages (A4-size). Please insert “Submission for 28th Annual Convention” in the email subject. The attached files should be named “psj2014 (name of first author)”. We will send an email to notify the acceptance of submission within a few days. If you do not receive this email, please send an email again by June 15th, as we may not have received your submission email.

‹Guidelines for submission›

  1. The presenter must be a member of the Phonetics Society of Japan. Non-members may submit if the first author is a member. First authors must be members at time of submission. Please check whether the first author has paid the annual membership fee for this year at the time of submission. Submission may be cancelled if unpaid by the submission deadline.
  2. Papers submitted to or scheduled to be submitted to other conferences will not be accepted. Submission will be cancelled if this is the case, and will be made public via the PSJ website.
  3. The abstract should include results available at the time of submission. Papers with only experiment plans will not be accepted.
  4. Notification of acceptance will be sent by June 20th. If accepted, please submit the full paper in both electronic and hard copy by July 20th (tentative). Late submission may not be published in the proceedings.
  5. Format of papers are the same for oral and poster presentations. (less than 6 pages in A4 sized paper)
  6. Applicants may choose the presentation form (oral or poster), but the final decision will be made by the committee. Please be ready to present in either forms.
  7. Languages used for presentations are limited to Japanese and English. Please write the title and abstract in the same language. Papers should be written in the same language as the abstract, and presentations should be given in that language.
  8. Distribution of additional materials on the day of presentation is prohibited.
  9. Abstracts will be made public as is via attachment to the conference program on the PSJ website before the conference dates (excluding references). The same abstract will be published in the Journal of Phonetic Society of Japan after the conference. Revisions will not be accepted after submission.
  10. Details of poster presentations, including poster size, will be announced shortly.

Call for Workshop Organization

Submission for workshop organizations launched from this year. The workshop will be held in the morning of the second conference day (two hours). This workshop is to offer opportunities for presenters and audience to have discussions on a particular topic after the talks by several presenters. Submission for workshop organization is now open. Please send the application form (approximately three pages in A4 size) to psj2014@nacos.com in PDF and MSWord (or text file) format by June 10th. Please insert “Submission for workshop at 28th Convention” in the email subject. The attached files should be named “psj2014workshop (name of organizer)”. We will send an email to notify the acceptance of submission within a few days. If you do not receive this email, please send an email again by June 15th, as we may not have received your submission email.

‹Guidelines for workshop submission›

  1. The organizer and presenters must be members of the Phonetics Society of Japan. Two or more presenters must be members of the Phonetic Society of Japan. Submission will be accepted if more than half of them are members. (They must be members at the time of submission or have finished with the application.) The workshop may have panel members (members or non-members).
  2. The workshop will be two hours long. More than twenty minutes should be provided for Q&A including the audience.
  3. Workshops organized at or scheduled to be organized at other conferences will not be accepted. Submission will be cancelled if this is the case, and will be made public via the PSJ website.
  4. Presenters’ travel expenses and reward will not be provided.
  5. Notification of acceptance will be sent by June 20th. If accepted, please submit the full paper by July 20th (tentative). Late submission may not be published in the proceedings.
  6. The paper format is the same as oral/poster presentations. There should be one page that explains the aims of the workshop. Presentation papers should be less than four pages each.
