Schedule This year marks the 80th anniversary of the Phonetic Society of Japan since its foundation. A special ceremony will be held on the first day of the convention to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Society. Regular presentations will take place on the second day of the convention.
80th Anniversary Banquet On Sept. 30, an 80th anniversary banquet will be held at the Hilltop Hotel (Yamanoue Hotel, Honkan, Ginga no Ma). Fees are 8,000 yen for regular attendants and 4,000 yen for students. Please pre-register for the event, by sending your name, contact information, and whether you are a student or not to onseikikaku@yahoo.co.jp. All are welcome.
Directions From JR Ochanomizu Station (Ochanomizu-bashi exit) and Tokyo Metro Ochanomizu Station, walk 5 minutes.
From Tokyo Station:
  • Take JR Chuo Line to Ochanomizu (130 yen), or
  • Take Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line to Ochanomizu (160 yen)

From Haneda Airport:
  • Take Tokyo Monorail to Hmamatsu-cho, then take JR Yamanote Line to Kanda, then take JR Chuo Line to Ochanomizu (620 yen, approx. 40 minutes), or
  • Take Keihin Kyuko Line to Shinagawa, then take JR Yamanote Line to Kanda, then take JR Chuo Line to Ochanomizu (560 yen, approx. 45 minutes)

80th Anniversary banquet

Lunch (bento)
Lunch (1000 yen with ocha) can be ordered for the second day (Sunday). Please order at the registration desk during the first day (Saturday). Those who plan to attend the special luncheon presentation can order lunch on Saturday, and receive it between 11:50 and 12:10 on Sunday.

There will be exhibitions by numerous commercial vendors and publishers at the following locations: 1st floor, Bldg. #8 and 10th floor, Bldg. #10.

On Saturday, Sept. 22, from 6:00pm, a reception will be held on the Nagoya University campus. Fees are 6,000 yen (3,000 yen for students). All are welcome to attend.

A reception will be held on Sept, 14, starting from 18:00, at a Chinese restaurant called “Chinese Table” at the Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay near Shin-Urayasu Station. Fees are 5,000 yen per person (2,500 yen for students). All are welcome to attend.

Lunch
On the second day, please have lunch at a nearby cafeteria or restaurant around the university.
