We welcome original research papers and research notes related to “Phonetic and phonological approaches to the study of singing”. This thematic issue aims to provide a state-of-the-art overview of interdisciplinary research where phonetics, phonology and musicology meet.

For this special issue, we welcome submissions on the interfaces between phonetics and/or phonology of speech and traditional singing in tonal and non-tonal languages. The approach can be descriptive, theoretical or experimental. Co-authored papers by linguists and musicologists are especially welcome.

Manuscripts should be written in English.
